We helped Wynstan increase demand by encouraging summer entertainers to think ahead and make their homes sunsmart in time for Christmas. And what better inspiration than a peek into Mr Wynstan’s own home upgrades.
Blinds, doors, shutters and awnings are not always something people notice when they are good, but everyone notices when they are bad — both in function and aesthetics. If they can’t be relied upon to keep the home cool and deliver respite from the scorching summer sun, friends and family will always remember the year they were given sunburn for Christmas.
Our strategy positioned the home as the host and the key to successful summer entertaining. The best hosts know every detail is important when entertaining in summer: food should be fresh, drinks icy cold, and no guest should go home with sunburn or heat stroke. Functional blinds, doors, shutters and awnings are a detail not to be overlooked.
The sun isn’t always a welcome guest, especially if you’re a fair-skinned redhead like Mr Wynstan and his family. So we created a campaign featuring an intimate tour of Mr Wynstan’s own home, where he shows off the recent upgrades that will help the whole family keep their cool at Christmas… because no one will ever forget the year that Auntie Winnie burnt the turkey and the family.
