We worked with UNSW to create a multifaceted experiential installation for Open Day that would show prospective students the way to their dream career.
In Australia there’s a lot of pressure to pick the “right” degree straight out of high school — but how many people know what they want to do for the rest of their life at this age? UNSW recognised they needed to offer the right support and guidance to help students choose an inspiring pathway to a career.
We wanted to present the human side of career pathways, because what better way to find your career than by asking someone who’s already done it. So we leveraged UNSW’s Hall of Fame alumni and their inspirational stories of success to connect study pathways with real-world outcomes.
We build an open plan maze consisting of 46 rectangular pillars, each showcasing a unique alumni story, curated by fields of interest instead of faculties. This allowed us to create a non-linear experience of study and career pathways — a tactile experience that would build stronger connections with UNSW’s offering.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which we create, the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
