Climate action never looked so hot (not that hot)
Communications charity Comms Declare As communications charity Comms Declare expanded their advocacy beyond advertising to encompass the broader media sector, they needed a new look to match this bolder remit. We honed their voice, re-energised their visuals, and helped the cause regain momentum as Australia's most ethical climate comms champion.
After five years’ hard work, Comms Declare’s advocacy had grown from campaigning for ethical climate communications to championing sustainable practice sector-wide. This meant the organisation needed a new voice and identity that encompassed this growing remit and positive ambition.
The market had caught up to Comms Declare’s original stance. With climate positive narratives risking being lost amid wider green conversations, CommsDeclare needed to craft a new vision for itself, showing that climate-conscious comms is about demonstrating opportunity, not just delivering warnings.
“Momentum over perfection” became the rallying cry. The rebrand, sparked by Paper Moose and collaborators, distilled Comms Declare’s intent into an identity both approachable and energising - clarity over clutter, passion over pessimism. Head of Design, Kenn Huang, was inspired by Mondrian’s bold simplicity for the logo, with playful negative space suggesting leaves, kiwis, or echidnae depending. Our digital experience embraced accessibility, sustainability, and inclusivity, all while keeping the tone optimistic and inviting, just like the brand.
