Knowing that they were exhibiting controversial English artist Grayson Perry in December of 2015, the MCA approached us to explore options for activating their under-utilised ambassador’s terrace on the Circular Quay foreshore.
Grayson’s work focuses on perceived prestige and antiquity of his homeland. So we transformed this clinical space into a magical gin garden, filled with Instagrammable elements, lights and artificial flora.
The bar already delighted over 10,000 people this summer, and attracted sponsorship from boutique Archie Rose gin and Young Henry’s beer and cider. Due to its success the pop up was extended for an additional three months.
