Getty Images selected Paper Moose as one of six creative agencies across Australia and New Zealand to create a 90-second film consisting of at least 50% stock footage. The brief in this sense was completely open so that each agency would have the creative freedom to make shareable pieces of content.
This was a great opportunity to use footage we can’t film ourselves, and to see how you could build narrative from footage that was pre-existing. Taking space stock footage from the Getty Images library we created a space adventure about a group of astronauts on their way to Mars who find a stowaway on board their ship.
The sketch played at Semi-Permanent and received a positive response from the Getty Image staff who commissioned it. Getty Images will use the film as an example for how to use stock footage when they hold a competition for filmmakers to do something similar for the chance to win a subscription to their services.
