Brief
Every school holiday’s Sydney Opera House runs a Creative Play program in the Western Foyer. The core goal of Creative Play is to empower young people to be artistic and collaborative. Creative Play installations need to be accessible, simultaneously accommodating a large number of participants and be suitable for both long (hours) and short (five minute) engagements.

Response
Echo Tables allows you to paint with your shadows. Supervising artists can change the textures and shapes that get painted onto the table. The systems works by having a Kinect sensor and projector mounted above a timber surface. The number of participants is only limited by the physical area it’s installed in.

Results
Echo Tables has been reinstalled several times in different incarnations including an ‘echo wall’ due to be exhibited at the Perth Festival 2016.
