The City of Sydney proposed a creative piece of content to raise awareness for Sydney’s reverse vending machine trial.
After some consideration we suggested the same budget would have significantly more impact if applied to a public art installation. Paper Moose managed creative, design, fabrication and installation of a four metre tall sculpture made of recyclable bottles. The ten-cent coin was chosen to symbolise the refund NSW was proposing to offer for recycled bottles and the installation shone as an illuminated beacon, inspiring imagination and conversation.
#recyclingpays was Instagrammed and regrammed, generating attention both here and internationally. The project won Desktop Magazine’s prestigious Create Design “Design of the Year” award.
